Spa and Esthetics Trade Shows: Are They Worth the Time and Expense?
The best way to benefit from a trade event and not overspend or feel disappointed is to plan what you want and need in advance! Here’s some tips to guide your next career investment.

How to make your trade show investment payoff:
Create a plan: decide which classes you’ll take and which exhibitors to visit. Know why you chose these resources, how your time with them will support your business needs. Don’t wander around the show aimlessly. It’ll cost you!
Decide how much money you can afford to spend and try to stick to your limit. Impulse buying at these events can really add up, and you may not even need or use what you bought. Remember, in cities like New York and Las Vegas the entertainment, food, and drinks can seriously add up! Better to avoid those financial and physical hangovers.
NO BIG PURCHASES! Unless you have plans to make a large buy in product or equipment expecting a deep show discount, WAIT until you get home before committing to a major purchase. I can’t tell you how many idle machines I’ve seen in spas and skincare practices bought on the spur of the moment but never integrated in service. You don’t want to own one of those.
Did a famous industry speaker inspire you to make a big change in your products or business management style? DO NOTHING until you’ve had a chance to think it over. Give a chance for the glow of newness fade before doing something you may not fully understand or have a passion to do. Sellers count on emotional impulse purchases to drive their businesses. Hold back until you really know!
Like a Las Vegas wedding, did you commit to a sale for something you’re beginning to regret? Unless you signed a contract in blood you can still annul most sales if you act quickly enough. You won’t regret the momentary embarrassment but suffer if you’re too shy to ask for a return.
Now, have a good time!
